Letter from Thomas R. Frieden, M.D., M.P.H.,
Director of the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention
In conjunction with Thomas R. Frieden, M.D., M.P.H., Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Bureau of Immunization adds our support to Dr. Frieden's encouragement to all healthcare providers to make efforts to ensure all children are fully protected against novel H1N1 influenza through administration of both doses of vaccine recommended for children from 6 months through 9 years of age.
His January 26, 2010, "Dear Colleague" letter on this subject is below for your reference.
Public and private healthcare providers in our state are to be commended for their efforts to protect our most precious investment, the children in our care. We encourage our immunization partners to complete the coverage begun with the first H1N1 vaccination.
Please distribute this important information to colleagues, members, coalitions, and partners who provide H1N1 immunizations. Please place this information prominently on your website. Contact Laura Rutledge, RN, of my staff regarding vaccine recommendations at (850) 245-4342.
